“Teach Me To Talk with Laura and Kate” on Thursday, October 22
On this week’s podcast we’ll be interviewing pediatrician Dr. Amy Garlove for insights into developmental delays from a pediatrician’s perspective. Listen as we discuss the developmental milestones she uses to judge typical development, red flags she looks for during visits with her patients, and tips for talking to your pediatrician with concerns about your child.
The second half of the show Kate and I will be introducing a new segment called Intervention Insights. Weeky during this time we’ll share a real story from our caseloads and offer our “insights” for moms and therapists who work with young children. We’ll also be making recommendations for books, websites, and other resources we feel will benefit you as you work with a language-delayed toddler.
And last but not least, did you know that October is National Down Syndrome Awareness month? I’ll be sharing an email from a mom asking if signing with her 7 year old daughter is preventing her from talking. If you’ve listened to my show before, I’ll bet you know my answer to this one!!
