In the wee hours of the morning, I wrote something that I can’t stop thinking about. Read it for yourself…
“I’m a pediatric speech-language pathologist. I can unabashedly say that it’s the best job I could dream of having! I hope that you too feel like you’ve found your bliss with this career choice. In case you haven’t, developing passion about what you do, even wanting to feel passion about what you do, can help.”
Isn’t it funny when you write or say something that you don’t even realize you know?
if you’ve lost your joy for this job or if you feel like you don’t know enough yet to be good at this job and it scares you to death, let me give you some advice…
Try to love it.
Try to be good at it.
Try to gin up enough energy and excitement that it looks like you’re passionate, even if you’re not quite feeling it yet.
When you do this, you will, in time, begin to feel that way as you serve your caseload and their families.
You will find that you will begin to enjoy what you do.
When you enjoy it, you get better at it.
So… start with wanting to want it, and that will turn in to trying, really trying…which will lead to the success, the confirmation, and yes, even the BLISS that comes when you know you were born to do this job!
Actually, I can help you be better at it. Check out my Recommendations for Professionals in this post for details about my resources that will make a real difference in your practice.
