Join me this week for Teach Me To Talk with Laura and Kate on Thursday, January 8 at 6:00 pm Eastern time for our very favorite topic – TOYS!!!  Kate and I could go on and on about this, but we’re hoping to condense this down to 2 shows – this week and next week on January 15.

We’ll tell you what we LOVE (and HATE) about toys?we use with toddlers. You’ll find out our criteria for picking a good toy, our favorite ones we use in therapy, and MOST of all EXACTLY how we use them.

Call us with your questions or comments, and who knows, you could win a special treat!!! Our call-in number is 1-718-766-4332. We’d love to hear from you!

Hey Laura! I am excited about getting to talk about or favorite topic-great toys and how to play with them! I hope that parents will let their guards down and call in Thursday at 6:00. We know from experience that many “very good” parents don’t know how to really engage their children in play and don’t always feel comfortable asking about it-I’d love to get some related calls!!!

Thanks Kate for a great show! If you missed it live, you can always listen anytime using the blogtalkradio icon on the right.

Next week we’ll continue our discussion of our favorite toys.

Don’t forget that you can WATCH clips of me playing with several of the toys we suggested in the DVD ads (or on the DVDs!) by looking at the posts about the DVD in the DVD category. Happy viewing! Laura

I am looking forward to your topic this week. I listened last week and got some great ideas for using toys to help with my 33 month old son. He has apraxia. I also wanted to mention I went out and bought Elefun! We are having a blast catching butterflies! I found this link to create more butterflies too. What an awesome idea! http://www.ehow.com/how_4439727_additional-extra-butterflies-elefun-game.html?ref=fuel&utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=ssp&utm_campaign=yssp_art

Thanks so much for having this website and the BlogTalk Radio available. They are great tools and resources for us parents who have children with speech and language disorders.

Kathy, thanks so much for that link! We ARE running low on butterflies! What a wonderful “recycling” idea, too!
