“Teach Me To Talk with Laura and Kate” for June 17, 2010
On this week’s podcast we’ll be answering questions from moms submitted to the?website including:?
How can SLPs and?special ed teacher?encourage parents from?different cultures to be more playful?
My child has great articulation but is still having difficulty learning words. Does he still need a hearing evaluation?
My son is 2 1/2 and not walking or talking,?has several?sound sensitivities, has a lot of tantrums, doesn’t wave bye, plays with his toys quiety, has some sleeping problems, and gets severly consipated where he ends up bleeding. Is this a sign of autism? As he does smile back when smiled at, likes it when grandparents, uncles and aunties come round. Enjoys playing with his brother. Eats well, does respond to his name but only when its feeding time. What do you recommend?
My child has been diagnosed with autism, but now his therapists don’t think he’s on the spectrum. What advice would you give me?
My child is very busy and doesn’t sit down to play. He fights with?other children instead of playing with them. My doctor says there’s nothing we can do until he’s older. I know there’s something wrong, so help!
