ASHA-certified SLPs must earn continuing education credit during each 3-year certification maintenance cycle to keep their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) active. That total must include a required number of hours in Ethics, and many state licensure boards have their own separate requirements on top of ASHA's — which is why it's worth checking your specific state board's rules in addition to your ASHA cycle.
